Cape Atlantic Salmon

Igniting a major food industry in Namibia and South Africa with Norwegian aquaculture technology.

African Aquaculture Company and our wholly owned subsidiary, Cape Atlantic Salmon, are spearheading sustainable salmon farming industry along the coastline of Namibia and South Africa.

By using the best from Norwegian aquaculture technology, the most advanced facilities for farming North Atlantic salmon will be developed in order to secure excellent growth conditions, infrastructure and a thriving economy

51,000 tonnes production volume

African Aquaculture Company is granted three licenses totaling 51,000 tonnes salmon outside Lüderitz, Namibia. This defines a clear path to becoming a major international aquaculture company and a game-changer for the region and reach our goal: Igniting a new and major food industry in Namibia and South Africa, with help from local expertice and Norwegian aquaculture technology.

United Nations calls for global expansion of aquaculture.

Aquaculture has seen enormous progress in recent decades and is destined to produce the majority of the ever-growing demand for aquatic food.

This was the key message in a recent announcement from The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

In line with this vision, we aim to establish future-oriented facilities for sustainable salmon farming along the Namibian and South African coastal line. Our primary focus is on ensuring salmon welfare, minimizing energy consumption, and significantly reducing our environmental footprint in both offshore and onshore operations.

The Benguela Ocean Current.

The African South Atlantic Coast is known for the cold Benguela Ocean Current which is running from south to north near the mainland. The current is fed by icy cold Antarctic waters which flow from the southernmost point of Africa, northward to the equator.

The surface temperatures of the Benguela Current average about 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. These low temperatures make ideal conditions for farming of North Atlantic salmon.

The world needs healthy food, sustainable industries and more jobs.

All over the globe there are problems with overfishing, food security and environmental issues. Our vision is to create future-oriented facilities for sustainable salmon farming along the Namibian and South African coastal line. We focus on salmon welfare, low energy consumption and a significantly smaller footprint in our offshore and on-shore plans.
